Legal-work software

Practical software for legal work.

Tools for organizing documents, following case information, and preparing work for review — built for the people who actually do that work, not for a courtroom.

Abstract illustration of loose pages being gathered into one organized document, with a clear path running through them.

The problem we are aimed at

Legal work generates a lot of paper, and the difficulty is rarely the individual document. It is keeping track of how everything fits together.

  • Scattered documentsThe same material in several places, in several formats, with no clear sense of which copy is current.
  • Finding a date or a sourceKnowing something was said somewhere, and needing to locate exactly where.
  • Tracking revisionsWorking out what changed between versions, and when.
  • Pulling material togetherTurning a pile of records into something organized enough to work from.

What we are building

These are the areas we are working on. We describe them as direction rather than finished features, because the software is still in development.

Document organization

Bringing material into one consistent structure so it can be worked through in a sensible order.

Dates and chronology

Assembling dates and events into a sequence that can be checked and corrected by a person.

Source-linked notes

Keeping a note tied to where it came from, so a claim can be traced back to its origin.

Revision tracking

Keeping earlier versions visible so changes can be reviewed rather than silently lost.

Preparing for review

Producing organized material that a qualified person can review, rather than a finished legal product.

Where human review fits

Software is good at gathering, sorting, and keeping track of things. It is not a substitute for a qualified person reading the material and deciding what it means.

We design around that division deliberately. The tools are meant to take the organizing work off someone's desk so their attention can go to the parts of the job that need judgement.

Everything these tools produce is working material. It is meant to be checked.

What that means in practice

  • Organized material, not conclusions.
  • A person reviews and corrects the output.
  • Sources stay visible so claims can be traced.
  • No automated legal decision-making.

Products

We are developing our first tools. We publish details only once the software is genuinely ready to deliver.

In development

Document organization tool

Our first application, aimed at gathering scattered records into one workable structure. Supported platforms, pricing, and licence terms will be published when they are final.

In development

Client and contract work

We also build to order where an organization has a specific problem worth solving. Scope and terms are agreed in writing before any work starts.
